Privacy Policy

BC Health Voices is a public-awareness campaign about health-profession regulation and patient care in British Columbia. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit bchealthvoices.ca, join the campaign or contact us.
Information you choose to share
Our supporter form collects your name, email address, how you would like to participate, and whether you are a member of the public, a regulated health professional or someone working in another healthcare role. You can choose “Prefer not to say” for your professional status. You may also provide your community and an optional message or source link. We record your consent to be contacted.
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message. Please do not send patient records, private medical information or confidential information about another person. This website is not a confidential clinical or professional-complaints service.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to questions, send campaign updates with your consent, coordinate offers of help and share information relevant to your interests. Your supporter category helps us distinguish public and professional communications. We also use technical information to operate the website, understand site use and prevent spam or misuse.
Joining does not put your name or message on a public supporter list. We will ask for separate permission before publishing your name, story or testimonial. We do not sell or rent supporter contact information.
Website services and cookies
The website is hosted on WordPress.com and uses WordPress/Jetpack services. These services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, pages viewed and referring links, and may use cookies for functionality, security and site statistics. Our form also uses technical checks to limit spam. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking some cookies may affect site features.

Service providers may process or store information outside Canada, where different privacy laws may apply.
Access, sharing and storage
Supporter submissions are stored as private records in the website’s administration system. Access is intended for authorized people helping administer the campaign and the service providers needed to run the website and communications. We may also disclose information when required by law. We do not provide supporter lists to other organizations for their own marketing.
We aim to keep personal information only as long as needed for these purposes or to meet legal obligations, and to delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed. Some records may remain temporarily in service-provider backups. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service or email system can guarantee complete security.
Your choices and privacy questions
You can ask to stop receiving campaign messages, withdraw your consent, request access to or correction of your information, or ask for its deletion by emailing bchealthvoices@gmail.com with “Privacy” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before providing or changing records. Requests are subject to applicable legal requirements, and we will explain any limits that apply.

Optional Google Analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics,” we use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic sources, pages visited, engagement and completed campaign sign-ups. Google may process online identifiers, device and browser information, approximate location and website activity. We do not send supporter names, email addresses, messages or professional-status selections to Google Analytics, and we do not use this integration for advertising profiles or remarketing.
Google Analytics does not load through our integration until you agree. You can choose “No thanks” and still use the site, or change your choice using “Analytics settings” in the footer. Your choice is remembered for up to six months. With consent, Analytics cookies may also remain for up to six months and may be renewed on a later visit. Withdrawing consent stops future collection through our integration; it does not automatically remove information already processed by Google.
Social-media links may include campaign labels that help us understand which channel or post brought a visit. These labels do not contain supporter details. Google processes Analytics information on its systems, which may be outside Canada. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. The Analytics choice controls this Google Analytics integration; WordPress.com and Jetpack services described above have separate privacy practices.
Other websites and policy updates
Links to articles and social channels take you to services with their own privacy practices. If we include embedded media, its provider may collect information when it loads or you interact with it. We will update this policy as our website and campaign tools change and show the latest revision date above.
